As Of: 9/30/04 Completed a Fluid Power Diploma - Southwestern Technical College 1967 Eaton Corp
1967 – 1974 with break for military time. Worked as Assistant Purchasing
Agent, Hydraulic Lab
Tech, Electronic Lab Tech, Draftsman, and Engineer during that period of
time. Military 1968 – 1971 After basic training, I was kept as a drill instructor and then move to Fort Sill, OK for a year of training with the radar systems. I then spent a year in Vietnam spending most of my time as a legal clerk. I finished my time as a personnel supervisor at Fort Lewis, WA 1974: I purchased a small engine & lawn and garden shop. This was a sales and service business that also sold skid steer loaders and recreational equipment such as snowmobiles and motorcycles. This purchased taught me much about the business world and running it successfully. I also learned much more about mechanics . During the fall of 1974, I was asked to start teaching the advance Fluid Power classes at Hennepin Technical College and have been teaching ever since that time. I also kept the Small Engine business for a couple more years before selling it. In 1977, I started a corporation called Hydra Tech Inc. and have been very active with that business over the years. This business has help keep my Fluid Power knowledge current with industry as I teach on a daily basis. Additional Information: I have since completed all my classes for my Mechanical Engineering Degree. I’m an accredited Fluid Power Instructor with the Fluid Power Society. I’m Fluid Power certified in all areas of the Mechanics, Technician, and Specialist Certifications and also with NICET. I have been active with the Fluid Power Society since I was a student in 1965 and also SAE for 25 years. I have enjoyed customize training with approximately 30 major companies over the years and have had lots of fun designing systems for many companies from the airlines to the amusement parks industry. One of my favorite areas beside teaching individuals whom all love to learn, is to create vehicles that is different from the norm such as: Hydrostatic 3 wheelers, a hydrostatic motorcycle, hydrostatic car and hydrostatic hybrid vehicles for over the road usage. Over the years I have probably design and physically built 75 to 100 different, unique machines and each time will teach me something new. |
