Register to
take a Certification Test.
Our certifications are recognized industry-wide are independent,
“vendor neutral”, portable, and are re-accredited every 5 years.
Individuals who master an IFPS certification are issued a credential
that recognizes their accomplishment.
The
program consists of optional review sessions, followed by a three-hour
written test. For Mechanic and Technician Certification, an additional
three-hour job performance test is also required. Certifications
are available at various skill levels including mechanic, technician,
and specialist.
All certifications are
valid for five years, at which time recertification will be required.
The following Certification
Tests are currently available through IFPS:

Fluid Power Conductor & Connector: fabricates, assembles
and tests hose & assemblies. This certifications requires a
three-hour written and a three-hour Job Performance (hands on) test.

Mechanic: fabricates,
assembles, tests, maintains and repairs systems and components. This
certification requires a three-hour written and a three-hour Job Performance
(hands on) test. IFPS Mechanic Level Certifications include:
Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic
- MHM
Industrial Hydraulic Mechanic
- IHM
Pneumatic Mechanic - PM
Master Mechanic – MM - requires
obtaining MHM, IHM, and PM Certifications, no additional tests
required.

Fluid Power Certified Technician: troubleshoots systems,
tests, and modifies systems, prepares reports. This certification
requires a three-hour written and a three-hour Job Performance
(hands on) test. IFPS Technician Level Certifications Include:
Mobile Hydraulic Technician - MHT
Industrial Hydraulic Technician -IHT
Pneumatic Technician - PT
Master Technician - MT -
requires MHT, IHT, and PT Certifications, no additional tests
required.

Fluid Power Specialist: analyzes and designs systems,
selects components, instructs others in operations and maintenance.
This certification requires a three-hour written test.

Pneumatic Specialist PS
Electronic Controls Specialists - ECS –

Fluid Power Specialist
- Requires HS and PS certifications, no additional tests required.

Engineer: A Certified professional Engineer, or
degree equivalent (BS from ABET recognized university,) may apply
for this Certification. Must have eight years work experience, and
have successfully passed the Hydraulic Specialist Test as well as
the Pneumatic Specialist Test.
