- NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT -

2001 has arrived and the same fast pace of 2000 hasn’t slowed a bit. Our country finally has a new president elect, and that’s a good thing. Business is brisk, the economy is still strong, and new innovative ideas are flourishing.

The past two years have proven to be good ones for our chapter and I know the future will only be better. It has been an honor and pleasure serving as your President. It has been a joy to work with so many fine IFPS members in the great state of Oklahoma. I appreciate everyone’s help during my tenure. Thank you for the opportunity to serve. I will continue to help in whatever capacity I’m needed.

At the January 23, 2001 meeting we will be electing a great slate of new officers for the year. I hope everyone can attend and let’s get the new year off to a great start.

- Treasurer’s Note -

During tenure as treasurer, I have expressed a desire for our

chapter to establish a scholarship fund for fluid power students.

At this point, however, the chapter’s monetary resources have

been limited.   Listed below are a few ideas on generating

scholarship funds and would be interested in your ideas.

Let’s discuss this issue further at the January meeting.

1)        Newsletter Employment Advertisements

I was approached by an organization inquiring about the

prospects of listing employment opportunities in our

newsletter for a fee.   I have contacted several other

organizations about this opportunity with positive results.

2)        Newsletter Business Advertisements

The opportunity for businesses to advertise their company,

products, services, training classes, educational

literature, etc.

3)        Newsletter Salesman Numbers

List local and region salesmen numbers, e-mail addresses,

business card, etc.

This is a great opportunity to establish a scholarship fund for

developing local talent with newsletter generated income.
