- NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT -

At our last meeting Greg Tatro from United Engines brought a PowerPoint presentation on electronic engine controls.  His presentation is one that is unmatched by anyone.  If you missed it you really did lose out, but there is a chance Greg can come back next year and promises to bring us information about even newer technological advances.  Keep in touch on this topic of interest.   The next time any of you see Greg be sure and personally thank him for his efforts.  We want to thank Bob Shumate and Motion Industries for the use of their facilities in Oklahoma City for the meeting.   Also thanks to John Quisenberry for the refreshments.   It’s not very often we get home cooked cookies for a Fluid Power function.

After a long hot summer we are coming upon a very exciting time of the year when we are all pumped for the newest and best Oklahoma IFPS Chapter 63 meetings.   Just think, where else do we have the most concentrated effort being put forth by a great bunch of officers, volunteering time, talent and treasures!

On September 19, 2000 we are going to have one of the best tours ever and then a wrap up session at Chimi’s Mexican restaurant after the tour.   We have been trying to set this up for over a year now and it’s finally going to happen.   Take advantage of this activity the officers (especially Steve Earl) have worked so hard to arrange.   The personnel at Flight Safety are very excited to show off their facilities at the Broken Arrow plant.    Please call, e-mail, or write John to let him know your coming.    If you want to participate in the tour only, the meeting only, or both that is strictly up to you.    What you get out of your chapter is up to you, and what you put into it is most likely what you will get out of it.   This is a fantastic activity so let’s get the fall started off with a large turnout.

- NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT (con’t) -

The following meeting will be held in November and we are expecting a great multitude of members and guests to attend.   An officer from IFPS headquarters will be visiting us.    He will speak about “Power Driven to Value Driven, what IFPS can do for the local chapter”.    Plan once again for an exciting and informative packed event coming soon.    The meeting location is set for the OSU campus at this point.

Just as a reminder, the January meeting will be for electing new officers for 2001.    Start thinking about how everyone can benefit the most and how you want to help this chapter grow.
