- NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT -

     Prepared by Abdul Maoued, President

FLUID POWER SOCIETY, OKLAHOMA CHAPTER - 63

It is my pleasure to write to you again about our chapter activities. We had a great meeting on March 20th at the Heritage Center in Perry were we toured Ditch Witch museum and participated in an informative presentation on contamination control by Suzan Arterbery. We are thankful to Charles Machine Works, Inc. for their continuous support.

Steve Earl, our past Treasurer with the help of other volunteers from the chapter is in the process of putting together a professionally produced chapter newsletter. This would be a great opportunities for local companies to advertise their products, services, sales departments contact information, employment opportunities and more. There would be a modest fee to cover the newsletter production cost and to generate money for our scholarship fund. If you or your company is interested to take part in this project please contact Steve Earl (see note on page 4).

In another effort to raise money for our scholarship fund, we are planning a golf tournament in August in Stillwater. We are still entertaining a lot of options, so we would like to hear from you and listen to your suggestions. Let us know if you would like to participate in this event or if your company would sponsor a hole.

Please, make the time to join us on May 8th at the Tulsa Technology Center for our chapter meeting and a presentation by SMC. See you there, and do not forget to bring a friend.

- Newsletter Ad Notice-

This is a repeat of the information printed in the last newsletter

concerning the possibilities of ads placed in our newsletter to

generate funds for our chapters goals and objectives. Steve Earl

our past Treasurer has volunteered to chair the committee to

handle this task. Again listed are a few ideas on generating

scholarship funds. Consider serving on this committee at the

March meeting.

1)        Newsletter Employment Advertisements

I was approached by an organization inquiring about the

prospects of listing employment opportunities in our

newsletter for a fee.   I have contacted several other

organizations about this opportunity with positive results.

2)        Newsletter Business Advertisements

The opportunity for businesses to advertise their company,

products, services, training classes, educational

literature, etc.

3)        Newsletter Salesman Numbers

List local and region salesmen numbers, e-mail addresses,

business card, etc.

This is a great opportunity to establish a scholarship fund for

developing local talent with newsletter generated income.
