Problem #5   Actuators

Actuators are devices provide the muscle to do the desired work of a fluid power system.  Work is accomplished by pressurized fluid bearing directly on an operating fluid cylinder or fluid motor   Linear cylinders produces a force resulting in linear motion, fluid motors produce a torque which results in a rotary motion.

Today we are dealing with the speed of a cylinder.  Please find the cylinder speed that is needed to extend the actuator, when the hydraulic system is using a 6-gpm pump.  The cylinder has a bore of 4-inches.   Please find the correct answer in (in/sec).
