Electronic Controls Certification by Robert E. Kraft

Electronic Controls has become the preeminent control medium for Fluid Power, and our industry has requested our “third party certifications” to verify the higher competency skills associated with the successful application and service of these controls. By January 2009, we will be releasing our Certified Fluid Power Electronic Control Specialist (CFPECS) certification that will be immediately followed by an Industrial Technician (CFPIECT) and Mobile Technician (CFPMECT) certifications.

Our experience suggests that the development of these three certifications will exceed $200,000. We are requesting financial support and technical input from Fluid Power manufacturers and distributors that manufacture and/or sell “electronic controls and electronic components”, and from OEM’s and Users that incorporate these controls into their equipment.

The Matrix shows the benefits for various levels of support. Please note that with donations of $3,000 and larger, we encourage the donor to provide a member for the certification development technical and/or advisory committees.

IFPS has committed $50,000 toward the initial development costs. Please encourage your companies to join IFPS and these CHARTER DONORS that have pledged $80,000 in backing this very important and needed Fluid Power Electronic Controls Certification development! We need $70,000 in additional Pledges to complete the development. (Pledges of $3,000 and larger, may be spread over two years.) Thank you for your consideration, and we thank all our members and their supporting companies for their continued support of IFPS!
