IFPS supports career advancement through ongoing education and training. Our Accredited Instructors are certified professionals who educate and prepare candidates for IFPS Certification Programs.

All IFPS Accredited Instructors have extensive backgrounds and instructional experience in the fluid power industry. In addition to their instructor accreditation, they are committed IFPS members and hold various levels of IFPS certifications.

Becoming an IFPS Accredited Instructor: If an individual wishes to become an IFPS Accredited Instructor (AI) he or she must meet specific requirements. Accredited Instructors are also eligible to become Authorized Job Performance Test Proctors (AJPP), which consists of the hands-on section of certain certification tests (additional requirements and training apply).

Instructor Accreditation Requirements:

  • Five years of experience in the fluid power industry, either in industry and/or in a formal teaching/training position.
  • Completion of an IFPS AI application and submit a professional resume.
  • Completion of an IFPS Instructor Training Workshop (ITW.) Individual must hold at least one IFPS certification before attending the ITW.
  • For AI-AJPP an applicant must hold either an IFPS Mechanic or Technician Certification or hold a Hydraulic Specialist or Pneumatic Specialist certification and pass a job performance test.
  • An AI applicant must sign an AI agreement.
  • Maintain IFPS membership, certification and accreditation.
