Join us for the 2018 Spring Meeting! This is a great way to network with professionals in the industry.

In addition to committee and board meetings, optional activities are planned throughout the week, a technical workshop and job performance tests will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018. Participation in the technical workshop contributes towards recertification and Accredited Instructor reaccreditation requirements.

Hotel Information
A discount hotel rate of $135.00 + tax /night has been secured. To take advantage of the discounted rate, hotel reservations must be made by January 27, 2018. After January 27, 2018, contact Jeana Hoffman  for hotel reservations.

Hotel reservations can be made online or by calling The Embassy Suites (505) 245-7100 (Be sure to mention group name – International Fluid Power Society to secure the group discount.)
Transportation: The hotel is approximately 5 miles from the Albuquerque International Airport. Taxi is approximately $20.00 each way.  

Registration Fees - Registration must be received by February 9, 2018. A $25 late fee will be applied after February 9th.
  • Delegate: $225.00 (includes reception, business meetings, and annual dinner. Fee waived for IFPS Board Members.)
  • Spouse: $150.00 (includes reception and annual dinner)
  • Technical Workshop: $150.00 (includes lunch)

      ABQ Trolley
      Time: 7:30 p.m. departure, 10:00 p.m. return
      Cost: $50.00/per person
      Our private trolley tour will make a 2.5-hour loop through the neon-drenched streets of downtown Albuquerque, stopping at two local restaurants. Historic buildings, public art and Route 66 are backdrops for this night on the town.

      Sandia Peak Tramway
      Time: 12:30 p.m. departure, 4:30 p.m. return
      Cost: $50.00/per person includes lunch
      A trip on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway transports you above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain a distance of 2.7 miles. See some of nature’s more dramatic beauty unfold before you. At sunset the desert skies produce a spectacular array of color, and your vantage point from the observation deck atop 10,378 foot Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest affords an 11,000 square-mile panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley and the Land of Enchantment.

Technical Workshop
“A System Approach to Hydraulic Design for Identifying and Mitigating Hazards”

Registration: $150.00 (lunch included)

This workshop will cover the building blocks for designing the safest systems. A quick review of hydraulic system designs will be discussed, as well as:
  • Common methods for preliminary hazard identification,
  • Qualifying identified hazards,
  • Mitigating hazards in hydraulic systems,
  • Failure modes and effects analysis and how to use it,
  • An overview of fault tree analysis.
