Chapter News


The summer months are generally quiet as the chapter takes an annual break from meetings. In the past both members and the committee have found it difficult to attend meetings at this time of year due to vacations and other family commitments.

This year is slightly different as the chapter is holding a webinar this month dedicated to the benefits of becoming IFPS certified.

On Thursday, July 15th at 4:30PM EST, IFPS will be conducting a 30 minute webinar on the advantages of becoming IFPS Certified.  This webinar will be open to all Central Florida IFPS Members and will cover the major points on the advantages of being a certified professional within the fluid power industry. This includes personal achievement, value to your job and company as well as the future promotion or employment opportunities.

Attendees of the webinar will earn one point towards re-certification!

It will be presented by Greg George, the IFPS Chapter 49 training committee member and proctor and Scott Gower, the IFPS Chapter 49 & 50 President .

There will be several different ways to listen to this presentation.  Upon registration you will receive a "dial in" phone number or you can also listen in utilizing your computer speakers.   
 
If you are using a computer only and you wish to participant in the Q & A session will need a microphone plugged in or headset, should you not have either one of these options you will have the ability to type questions directly from your keyboard.

Also note, if you are utilizing "Go To Meetings" for the first time, it is recommended to sign in at least 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation so you have time to download the necessary software. 

Next Meeting

The next meeting will be held at Sun Hydraulics in Sarasota on September the 16th, 2010.

This will be your last opportunity to attend a Chapter meeting if you want to receive an invitation for a behind the scenes tour at a major theme park in Central Florida.
