Chapter News & Next Meeting
During December the local committee members held a conference call to discuss and plan the events for 2011. It is now scheduled to be one of the most exciting and busy years for the local chapter giving the members many different opportunities to become involved with the chapter or attend a number of different events.
January kicks off with a combined meeting of a behind the scenes tour of "Dinosaur- The Ride" at Animal Kingdom in Disney as well as the first Chapter meeting of the year.
This meeting will take place on the evening of January 20, 2011, and many Central Florida Chapter members have already signed up to attend. Everyone who signed up will be receiving a separate notification of where and when to meet in the next week to ten days. This meeting will also be dedicated to chapter committee elections.
In February the International Fluid Power Society will host their Spring Meeting at the Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista, Orlando. It is a four day event scheduled from February 23rd - 26th of February 2011. It is a great way to network with other members, attend various meetings, and an opportunity to take written and job performance tests.
The officers of our local chapter plan on attending the Welcome Reception on Wednesday, Feb 23 from 6-7:30 pm. The reception is free and is a good chance to meet national IFPS membership.

On March 11 and 12 the FIRST robotics teams will be competing at the U.C.F. campus in Orlando. This will be a great opportunity to see and meet some of the teams sponsored by the Chapter. More information about this event will be published in next month's newsletter.
PIRTEK USA will be hosting the next meeting on March 17, 2011 and then back to the Orange County H4 building in May.
During the summer recess the Chapter plans to host another webinar in July before resuming with a meeting at Gulf Controls in September. During November the Chapter will return to the Orange County H4 building for the annual presentations and sponsorship for the FIRST robotics teams.
This is going to be a very busy year and we hope to see more members attending these exciting events in 2011.
One of the objectives for 2011 is to find a volunteer from the Chapter to head up a new project called the Outreach Program. This new program is to promote the education of fluid power and motion control at local schools and colleges. If anyone is interested in filling in this new role please contact Scott Gower at email@example.com.
Before the tour at Disney's Animal Kingdom begins a brief chapter meeting will be held to address any new or old business. This is also time for committee elections.
All committee posts are up for election / re-election which include; president, vice president, treasurer, secretary and membership liaison as well as nomination and election of the newly created outreach program position.
