Chapter News

On Thursday, March 25, 2012 PIRTEK USA hosted the second Chapter 49 meeting of the year. The evening started with volunteers testing their skills with a Lego pneumatic kit. The objective was to place two small plastic balls into a cup using an air powered claw attached to a crane arm assembled from a Lego education pneumatic kit.

After the fun and games the group settled down to the more serious matters on the agenda. This included making plans for a summer webinar, further education classes at high schools using the real-life crane designed and assembled by chapter 49 members and the up-coming review and certification dates.

All agreed that after the chapter purchased a job performance kit, which can be used for six different certification exams, that a big effort will be made to promote certification by the committee to IFPS members and other companies in Central Florida. Interest has already been expressed in both C & C and the Mechanic & Technician level exams coming in the near future.

Next meeting will take place on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at the 4H Building, Orange County Extension Services, 6021 S. Conway Rd, Orlando, FL 32812.
