Basics for the Fluid Power Mechanic

Greg P. Gordon, PE, (Ohio State University) and noted fluid power author and educator John J. Pippenger, PE, provide the basics of both hydraulics and pneumatics for entry-level fluid power mechanics, and machine operators. The text covers principles of operation, maintenance procedures, machine set-up, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.

This book should help prepare candidates to take any of the three Fluid Power Mechanic Certification tests (Industrial Hydraulic, Mobile Hydraulic, or Pneumatic) offered by the Fluid Power Society. Review questions are included at the end of each chapter. An accompanying instructor's manual is also available that provides the answers to the review questions and includes suggestions for class projects.
